Nervous apparatus

The nervous apparatus is, so to speak, the "control unit" of the human body.
Its functions are: to produce information about the inside and outside environment; integrate sensory information; coordinate the various activities (voluntary and involuntary); regulate and control structures and peripheral apparatuses. Anatomically, the nervous system is divided into central and peripheral nervous system: the first is made of the encephalon and spinal cord and is responsible for the development and integration of sensory data and motor function; the peripheral system is instead made up of all the nerves and ganglia that connect the brain and spinal cord to other parts of the body (including organs, muscles and all other systems, such as the respiratory system, the visual system or the digestive system).
This complex system obviously needs certain substances to work properly, such as amino acids, precursors of neurotransmitters, vitamins and minerals. In times of particular stress you may have deficiencies that can send even this "central processing unit" haywire with different types of consequences, such as mental fatigue, lack of tone, difficulty concentrating, depressed mood, insomnia, etc..
